Malta Freeport Terminals has recently purchased the following equipment for its clinic. The main scope is to continue improving the medical services it provides its personnel.
Kendrick Extrication Device (KED)
The Kendrick Extrication Device (KED) is a device that is used in vehicle extrication to remove a patient from a motor vehicle. A KED is used in conjunction with a cervical collar to help immobilise a patient's head, neck and spine in the normal anatomical position (neutral position). This position helps prevent additional injuries to these regions during vehicle extrication
Professional Splinter Kit
The Professional Splinter Kit provides secure immobilisation without circumferential pressure, eliminating the potential for tissue, and nerve damage. The splint is made to fit the patient, instead of manipulating the patient to fit the splint.
The Head Immobiliser is used to immobilise patients with a potential cervical spine injury.
