Silver service… when they started out in 1997, Malta Freeport Terminals was still developing its most ambitious project to date: Terminal Two, which heralded a new dawn for the facility. Twenty-five years on and the 11 staff members who joined the Freeport during that year have been given due recognition for their loyalty while the facility has undergone a huge €320 million investment programme to transform it into one of the very best in the Mediterranean. Thomas Barbara, Vincent Cilia, Emmanuel Mizzi, Godfrey Muscat, Carmelo Psaila, Lawrence Schembri, Joseph Vella and Christopher Zerafa from the Operations Department together with Charlot Bartolo from IT, Nicholas Borg from Engineering and Antoine Zahra from Projects were all thanked by Freeport CEO Alex Montebello for their dedicated service. Thanks to its huge strategic investment programme, the Freeport has become a significant player in the highly competitive containerisation industry and is eyeing further development projects to consolidate its status as a leading hub in the region.
