Archbishop of Malta, Charles Scicluna celebrates Anniversary mass at Malta Freeport Terminals

#MaltaFreeportTerminals was delighted to welcome the Archbishop of Malta, Charles Scicluna, who celebrated Mass for employees and got a bird’s-eye view of the facility from the top of a megamax quay crane. The Archbishop, who dedicated the service to all workers who had ever been injured or passed away at their place of work, said he was very happy to be marking his 10th anniversary as a bishop among Freeport employees. To mark the visit and Mgr Scicluna’s episcopal anniversary, Freeport CEO Alex Montebello presented the Archbishop with a representation of Our Lady of Damascus in a silver frame. Mgr Scicluna was visibly emotional at the gesture as he explained that he had been in Damascus and had used the same holy picture to commemorate his 10th anniversary as a bishop. Mgr Scicluna also presented all employees that attended Mass with a holy picture bearing the same image and asked them to pray for him, before blessing the niche of Our Lady of Sorrows at the facility and praying for all employees that have passed away. Freeport staff were enthused by the visit and thanked the Archbishop for sharing this special occasion with them
