The Green Innovators… Malta Freeport Terminals and the Birżebbuġa local council have chosen three winners from the Environment Leaflet Competition for coming up with innovative recycling proposals. The Freeport puts the Birżebbuġa community’s needs high on its agenda and has, along the years, adopted several initiatives to ameliorate residents’ wellbeing. The winners were invited to the Freeport where representatives explained the initiatives being taken to safeguard the environment and mentioned that LNG vessels — such as the LNG-powered mega containership, CMA CGM Montmartre, in the background — were calling regularly at the port. Birżebbuġa councillor Maria Mifsud also highlighted the good relations the council has with the Freeport.
The winners were presented with vouchers to stay at Hilton Malta, db San Antonio Resort + Spa, and The Embassy Valletta Hotel.
