Home » Tender for General Refurbishment of 5 RTGs
Malta Freeport Terminals has issued the tender for the General Refurbishment of Qty 5 Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTGs) manufactured by Konecranes, with an option to refurbish a further batch of Qty 5 (total of Qty 10). This will be selected among a batch of 45 RTGs delivered between 2006 and 2010, as per RTG specifications.

The purpose of this refurbishment is to extend the lifetime of these RTGs by 5 more years. Therefore, refurbishment works shall include commissioning, testing and handover on site.
The target is to start the refurbishment works on the crane in April 2023 and to perform the works on site in a dedicated area at MFTL. The RTGs will be refurbished one after the other. The Contractor must take responsibility of the realisation of the whole project as well as the project management.

The bids must be received by MFTL by not later than 28th February 2023.

Site Visit

A site visit is mandatory for Tenderers, and this shall be held before 29th January, 2023. Tenderers are advised, in their interest, to inspect the site of works, in order to ascertain for themselves the conditions of the site itself in particular the requirements of MFTL operations. No claims arising from lack of ascertaining the site condition shall be entertained later.

The Tenderer shall promptly notify the Company of any ambiguity upon examination of the Tender Documents. Tenderers requiring clarification or interpretations of the Tender Documents shall make a written request to the Purchasing Department prior to the deadline set in the Tender schedule.

Submission of Tender Offers

All Tenders and any other documents required to be submitted preferably through a soft copy addressed to the Purchasing Manager Mr. Chris Bartolo and Ms. Denise Falzon on the below address by no later than 28th February 2023.

For any other documentation / brochures etc. that cannot be sent in soft copy email, these can be delivered at the front desk at the Malta Freeport Terminals Administration block reception addressed to the Purchasing Manager.

The outer package enclosing the Tender offer shall be marked with the Tender Name and the name of the Tenderer’s organisation. All offers must be received not later than the closing date and time indicated in the Tendering Schedule.

Late Tenders

Contractors shall not be able to submit a tender offer once the deadline for submission of tenders has expired. No liability can be accepted for delays or technical difficulties that preclude tender offers from being submitted in time. No tender may be amended or withdrawn after the deadline for submission.
